Woman Spends $25K In Cloning Dead Cat Only To Bring Back A Kitten With Completely Different Personality

A woman has recounted how she spent $25,000 to clone her beloved cat that has died — only to end up with a new kitten with “completely different personality”.

Woman Spent $25K To Clone Dead Cat Only To Bring Back To Life A Kitten With Completely Different Personality

Kelly Anderson told The Sun that she “couldn’t sleep that night” when her five-year-old cat named Chai, died on March 16, 2017.

The journey to bring her dead cat to life started when Anderson had conversation about cloning with her roommate who is a vet tech.

“I just remembered having a conversation with my roommate, who’s a vet tech, at some point that night about cloning,” Anderson told the outlet.

“I started doing a lot of research and looked into ViaGen a lot. Worried that time may be running out, Anderson called ViaGen the second they opened the next morning, and the process from there was basically getting her vet to work with them to get a skin biopsy (from Chai).

Four years later, Anderson has a new kitten that she named Belle, but said its personality “is completely different” from Chai.

“They have some baseline personalities that are a little similar. Like they’re very bold, sassy, cats, but that could be the breed. But Belle is a totally new cat.”

“She is the troublemaker,” said Anderson while she pet one of her three other adopted cats during the virtual interview.

“I have all my other cats who are between three and almost 13. This is my oldest,” she said while holding her black cat. “They’re all pretty chill, and then there’s Belle.”

“She’s a kitten and she wants to play all the time. She’s really rambunctious like any other six-month-old kitten. She’s very affectionate and inquisitive and just bold. She has no fear at all she loves going out to new places.”

“I bring her outside or to breweries. She loves exploring and meeting other animals”

Chai and Belle look identical in pictures but because Chai was so sick, Belle is filling out more and “is getting fluffier,” Anderson said.

ViaGen told The Sun that cloned animals will look identical, but develop their own personality based on external factors.

Those factors include how many animals are in the house, what the animal is being fed, how the cat is raised, among dozens of other nature-versus-nurture impacts.

The Best Fish Feed in Nigeria for Catfish: Why Quality Matters

A few months ago, I visited a fish farm run by an ambitious aquapreneur who had high hopes for his homemade fish feed. His pond was large, his vision clear: this feed would cut costs, boost growth, and drive profitability.  But within a week, disaster struck. Fish floated belly-up. Growth stalled. The numbers didn’t add up.   The problem wasn’t the fish. It was the feed.   The catfish were growing exactly as they were fed: poorly. Just as fish can’t flourish on empty calories, a farm can’t succeed on subpar feed. The right nutrition makes the difference between a thriving business and a sinking investment.   In Nigeria’s competitive catfish farming industry, choosing the best feed isn’t just about cost, it’s about protein content, digestibility, floatability, and growth performance. The wrong feed leads to stunted growth, higher mortality, and lost profits. The right one maximizes yield, health, and market value.  In this article, we’ll explore:...

Rough Collie Is Now The Most Aggressive Dog, According To Science

Often touted for being highly affectionate, Rough Collie has topped the list of 23 other types of dogs known to be “aggressive,” according to new study published in Scientific Reports. Researchers from Helsinki who studied the behaviour of more than 9,000 dogs covering 24 breeds found that Long-Haired Collies, like Rough Collie, Miniature Poodle, and Miniature Schnauzer are more likely than others to exhibit aggressive behaviour. The study also revealed that small dogs are more likely to behave aggressively than mid-sized and large dogs, but due to their size, are often not seen as threatening and the bad behaviour therefore goes unaddressed. Male dogs are also more aggressive than females and neutering them has no impact. The researchers noted that Labradors and Golden Retrievers known for their docile temperament and gentle nature, are the least aggressive dog breeds. Notable breeds such as Rottweilers, Dobermans and British Bulldogs were however not included in the list. ...
