Video Shows Moment Dog Waves At Shoppers Visiting A Supermarket In Brazil

A rescue dog in Brazil has melted hearts after raising her paw and waving at shoppers visiting a supermarket.

Dog Waves At Shoppers Visiting A Supermarket In Brazil

Footage captured in Catanduva, Sao Paulo, shows the friendly dog named Agusta patiently sitting outside the store and greeting customers as they enter or exit.

In the video below, the dog eagerly waits for people to approach before raising her paw and waving it in their direction.

Some shoppers stop to give the dog a gentle stroke on the head.

Owner Jeferson Alexandre Rodrigues, 53, said he adopted Agusta in 2019 after reading about the animal on social media.

The canine had been found by a rescue group bruised, unable to walk and trembling with fear before she was hospitalised for a week.

Now, two years later, the friendly animal joins her owner at his motorcycle workshop where she is considered “the workshop's chief employee”.

Mr Rodrigues told G1 News: “She was still afraid of people when she came to my workshop, but over time, she built confidence and became this thing we see in the video. She has been the workshop's chief employee since 2019.”

The dog's owner, who named his dog after the motorcycle brand Agusta, said the pooch “waves her paw to everyone who leaves the supermarket” and was a “real character”.

He continued: “Agusta learned to give the paw. She welcomes everyone that way and ends up getting affection.”

Meanwhile beautician Letícia Américo, 24, who filmed the scenes, said she found the canine “very cute” and was “in love” with the dog.

Following the heartwarming scenes, viewers took to social media to praise the dog.

One wrote: “I absolutely cannot handle this I'm nearly crying right now.”

Another added: “Aw bless how bloody rad (sic) are dogs.”

A third said: “We don't deserve dogs.”

Meanwhile another viewer joked: “He needs to get paid!”

According to experts, a dog's paw lift can be a signal of anticipation, curiosity or uncertainty about a situation.

Canines may attempt to lift their paws and wave if they anticipate a treat may be given or that something good may follow the gesture.

In some circumstances the gesture may also be accompanied by a tail wag and could be a sign that the dog wishes to attract the attention of others.

The lifting of a front paw can also be a sign of stress, fear or uncertainty about a situation and can be used by dogs if they feel insecure or threatened.

The Best Fish Feed in Nigeria for Catfish: Why Quality Matters

A few months ago, I visited a fish farm run by an ambitious aquapreneur who had high hopes for his homemade fish feed. His pond was large, his vision clear: this feed would cut costs, boost growth, and drive profitability.  But within a week, disaster struck. Fish floated belly-up. Growth stalled. The numbers didn’t add up.   The problem wasn’t the fish. It was the feed.   The catfish were growing exactly as they were fed: poorly. Just as fish can’t flourish on empty calories, a farm can’t succeed on subpar feed. The right nutrition makes the difference between a thriving business and a sinking investment.   In Nigeria’s competitive catfish farming industry, choosing the best feed isn’t just about cost, it’s about protein content, digestibility, floatability, and growth performance. The wrong feed leads to stunted growth, higher mortality, and lost profits. The right one maximizes yield, health, and market value.  In this article, we’ll explore:...

Rough Collie Is Now The Most Aggressive Dog, According To Science

Often touted for being highly affectionate, Rough Collie has topped the list of 23 other types of dogs known to be “aggressive,” according to new study published in Scientific Reports. Researchers from Helsinki who studied the behaviour of more than 9,000 dogs covering 24 breeds found that Long-Haired Collies, like Rough Collie, Miniature Poodle, and Miniature Schnauzer are more likely than others to exhibit aggressive behaviour. The study also revealed that small dogs are more likely to behave aggressively than mid-sized and large dogs, but due to their size, are often not seen as threatening and the bad behaviour therefore goes unaddressed. Male dogs are also more aggressive than females and neutering them has no impact. The researchers noted that Labradors and Golden Retrievers known for their docile temperament and gentle nature, are the least aggressive dog breeds. Notable breeds such as Rottweilers, Dobermans and British Bulldogs were however not included in the list. ...
