The U.S. Is Betting On Young Nigerians To Revolutionize Fish Farming

Ten young graduates just finished an intensive program to revolutionize fish farming in Nigeria, and the U.S. soybean industry is backing them in a big way. In a move to boost food security and create economic opportunities, a major American agriculture group is doubling down on its investment in Nigeria's youth. The American Soybean Association (ASA) celebrated the graduation of the first-ever class of its "Next Gen Leaders for Aquaculture Innovation Programme," where ten young Nigerians were trained for five months in modern fish farming with a special focus on using soybean-based feeds to grow healthier fish faster. But here's the big takeaway: This wasn't just a graduation ceremony. It was the launchpad for a much larger plan. The ASA officially signed a new three-year partnership with a Nigerian firm, SejFarms Consult Limited, to scale up the program and train many more young people. Ex Wants His Dog Back, But She’s Not Giving Up Her Furry Best Friend

A woman is standing firm in the face of her ex-boyfriend’s demands for her beloved dog, refusing to give him up after their breakup.

Ex wants his dog back

In a Reddit post on the “Am I the A------” forum, she shared her side of the story, explaining that her ex had gifted her the puppy for her birthday years ago. However, following their split—after he cheated—she moved out and took the dog with her.

According to the woman, her ex has never been involved in the dog’s care, neglecting to feed or walk him. She’s the one who’s consistently paid for all of his medical bills and veterinary care, yet her ex continues to accuse her of “stealing his dog” on social media, even threatening to break into her home if she doesn’t return him. “This dog means the world to me,” she explained.

The dog, who suffers from brain damage due to an accident shortly after birth, requires special care. The woman describes how he struggles with dehydration, often drinking excessive amounts of water and eating mud, to the point where he once had a seizure after drinking too much from an automatically refilling water bowl. She’s deeply concerned her ex wouldn’t be able to provide the constant attention and care he needs.

Commenters overwhelmingly supported the woman’s stance, noting that the dog was a gift and, therefore, legally hers. They urged her to gather evidence in case things escalate into a legal battle, with one user advising her to report any break-in attempt to the authorities.

“Your priority should be what’s best for the dog, and it’s clear you’re giving him the care he truly needs,” one commenter affirmed. Others expressed their disbelief at her ex’s audacity, highlighting that he’s already betrayed her once and now seems intent on taking her pet, too.
