A Melbourne man is seeking apology from the owner of a dog that attacked both him and his labrador, Momo, in Rowville this week.
Joe Chan says he went out for a walk with Momo on Lakeview Avenue in Rowville at about 10:40pm on New year's Day when the incident occurred.
According to Chan, a woman was walking ahead of him with two dogs when one of them turned back and pulled away from her to attack Momo.
The other dog joined in the attack as Chan did everything he could to fight them off.
One of the dogs bit into Momo six times.
It then dragged Chan to the ground and pierced his skin seven times.
The dogs owner collapsed against a wall while Chan was left bleeding and begging for help.
As neighbours rushed to help Chan, the woman didn't say a single word or help out in any way, but walked away.
Chan said he spent almost two hours waiting for an ambulance and two nights in hospital.
Momo is alive but traumatised.
Chan, an animal lover, said he didn't want the dogs put down, only for them to be controlled and for their owner to take responsibility.
“I hope that woman can come out and say sorry,” he said.
Knox Council is investigating the incident.
