Naomi Osaka is now a proud dog mom!
On Friday evening, the tennis star introduced the newest addition to her family — an adorable puppy.
Sharing a photo of herself cuddling up the pooch, the 23-year-old Japanese professional tennis player wrote on Instagram, “I’m a Mother, No Drama”.
Although Osaka didn't mention the name and breed of the dog, the spotlight stealing canine appears to be a French bulldog.
Osaka's love for the new puppy is clearly shown in the pictures and videos.
In several of the images, Osaka, who is now sporting box braids, was beaming alongside her adorable little pup, who seems to have a personality all his own. In one of the videos, he looks curiously at Osaka as she walks on a treadmill.
Many of her celebrity friends and fans were completely taken with the new addition to the Osaka family.
Naomi Campbell shared several heart emojis, while fellow tennis star Sloane Stephens wrote, “Congrats on your new bundle of joy.”
One fan wrote, “Sending you patience for the potty training,” while another asked: “Can we get a name pls?”
Osaka has stayed off of social media since withdrawing from Wimbledon and the French Open to prioritize her mental, and emotional health.
Her decision to put her wellbeing first elicited widespread support from fellow athletes, celebrities and fans.
Osaka has previously talked about the importance of self-care. She explained to Vogue magazines in April, 2019 that after tough matches, she likes to take a relaxing Japanese bath to restore balance.
“I look after my mental health by surrounding myself with a lot of people that I love,” she said.
“Positive energy is one of the most important things in the world,” she added.
From every indications, the new puppy seems exactly what she needs at this time.
