Meet Secret, one of the smartest dogs that has been making waves on social media.

Meet Secret: The Humanlike Dog That Can Paint, Do Yoga, Play Guitar, Fold Laundry and Even Do Videos of Her Own
Secret is a 6-year-old Australian Shepherd whose humanlike skills have built her a massive online following and brought attention to her owner Mary Peters, as well as other dogs.

After a video of Secret was viewed over 70 million times on Tiktok, I have decided to highlight other humanlike tasks she has completed so far.

But before I continue, I'll like to add that there's something quite unique about Secret — the fact that she's owned by someone who has always wanted to get into dog training. In fact, it was the desire to train an intelligent dog that pushed Mary to acquire an Australian Shepherd, a breed she thought would be a good candidate for her first attempt.

Secret is smart, there's no way around it. But in case you're doubting her artistic ability, I want to tell you in advance, she's going to prove you wrong with her adventures featured in the Instagram account @my_aussie_gal, which is run by her owner, Mary.

1. She Completed Painting of Flower

In the footage posted on Instagram, Secret is captured placing a canvas onto an easel using her mouth. She then paints a blue background across the canvas by holding the brush between her teeth. She follows it with a green stem, complete with leaves, and then a yellow, circular shape to represent the flower itself.

Next, she goes back to add some details. She includes a brown center to the flower and a few more leaves to the stem.

The video ends with Secret running toward the camera with paint marks visible on her nose, then cuts to her sitting proudly next to her masterpiece.

2. She Did Yoga

In this Instagram video below, Secret can be seen performing an impressive yoga moves with her owner. She's capable of practicing a more advanced form of acro yoga, pushing her favorite human on a swing, playing hide and seek, and doing backward trust falls.

3. She Played Guitar

In the clip found below, the smart pooch can be seen playing a guitar with her paws, next to Mary who is also strumming the strings of another guitar.

4. She Folded Laundry

Secret is capable of helping her owner with laundry. In the clip below, the dog can be seen helping Mary in a laundromat by unloading clothes into a basket using her mouth.

The camera then cuts to Mary's bedroom, where Secret is following her owner by dragging a basket full of clothes along the carpet.

Mary then passes clothes on hangers to the dog, who incredibly manages to hang them onto the rail using her teeth.

5. She filmed her own Video

In the video below, Secret can be seen in front of a tripod that has a smartphone attached.

The dog then steps forward and presses the phone with her nose to supposedly begin filming.

Next, the perspective shifts to that of the tripod camera, and Secret takes a few steps back before hopping forward on alternate front legs.

She then spins around, before waving at the camera before hopping along the carpet once more.

Secret and her owner Mary, are based in Bellingham, Washington.

The dog is so skilled at learning human social communicative behaviour that people sometimes doubt if she's actually the one doing most of the tasks.

Mary has told those who doubted that Secret could carry out some of the humanlike skills on her own that her dog's feats are as a result of over six years of training.

Yes, the key to raising a smart dog like Secret is simply a matter of training. Your dog doesn't have to be the most intelligent breed. Your dog has to be trained more than the rest. So, if you train your dog consistently on a particular task and never give up — your pet will eventually be considered “humanlike”.

It takes work, but it can be done.

The Real Risks: Weighing Vaccine Side Effects vs. Deadly Diseases

Some dog owners express concern about vaccine risks. Meanwhile, preventable diseases continue to pose a documented threat. For example, a two-year pause in dog rabies vaccination campaigns in Haiti resulted in a five to eightfold increase in animal rabies cases within a single year, creating a public health crisis that required an emergency response. This event illustrates a central fact: the dangers of vaccine-preventable diseases are quantifiably greater than the known risks associated with vaccination. This article will address concerns about vaccine safety by examining the precise nature of both vaccine risks and disease threats, using verifiable data to support informed decision-making for your dog's health. The Biological Impossibility of Canine Autism The claim that vaccines cause autism in dogs is not supported by veterinary science due to fundamental biological reasons. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a human neurodevelopmental condition. Its diagnosis depends on asses...

5 Must-Ask Questions Before You Leave Your Dog at the Groomer

A 2022 study in the Journal of Veterinary Behavior noted that over 50% of dogs show signs of stress during grooming. While severe physical injuries are less common, a single preventable incident is one too many. Cases like those in Louisiana, where dogs received ocular chemical burns from misused shampoo at a licensed facility, demonstrate that a groomer’s marketing claims are not a guarantee of safety. Your dog’s well-being depends on the protocols you cannot see. The only way to evaluate them is to ask direct, specific questions. The goal is not to create conflict, but to identify competence and build trust based on transparent practices. 1. “What is your exact step-by-step protocol for protecting my dog’s eyes during the bath?” The difference between a safe groom and a dangerous one lies in the specifics of execution. Indicator of a Professional “Before the bath, we apply a sterile, vet-approved ophthalmic ointment to lubricate the eyes and create a barrier against shampoo. We av...

The Practical Path to a Pet-Friendly Rental: A Data-Backed Guide

“I would have lived in a tent before I surrendered my dog ,” says Valerie Ducharme, a renter who faced the Yukon's housing crisis with her Australian shepherd. Her sentiment is common. According to a 2023 Canadian Rental Housing Index report , nearly 40% of rental households include pets, yet a systematic analysis of listings in major Canadian markets shows that less than 30% explicitly welcome them. This gap creates a logistical and emotional crisis for responsible pet owners . This guide provides a concrete strategy based on documented landlord concerns and successful tenant approaches. It replaces hope with a structured plan. 1. Reframe the Conversation from Problem to Solution Landlords decline pets based on rational risk assessment. The documented primary concerns are: Property damage (chewed moldings, stained carpets) Noise disturbances leading to tenant turnover Liability issues (dog bites) Residual allergens affecting future tenants Your application must address these poin...
