A woman in Malaysia has turned a very sick stray cat into a healthy feline in one year.

Nur Hamizah Had met the severely skinny and scraggly stray cat named Meimei wandering and begging for food outside of her home in May 2020.

According to the post she shared on the Facebook group Kelab Pencinta Kuching Malaysia (cat lovers club for Malaysians), Meimei has turned into a healthy cat within a year, thanks to regular grooming sessions and visits to the vet.

The 30-year-old cat lover who hails from Sarawak, Malaysia captioned the post: “From ugly and stinky to princess.”

The before photos show an extremely small and frail cat with infected wounds.

A Stray Cat named Meimei is transformed into a healthy cat

Had also shared the after photos which shows a healthy Meimei with a fluffy and luscious fur.

Had recounted how she transformed the cat which “smelled bad” into a princess.

According to Had, Meimei was initially frightened and wary around her and her husband, but they continued feeding, hydrating, and taking it to the vet around four to five times to treat its infected skin and wounds.

Luckily, her hard work paid off when Meimei gradually grew back its fur after five to six months.

The key to Meimei’s fluffy and luscious fur was regular diets, weekly bathing sessions and daily brushings, according to Had.
