The torrential downpours that slammed Australia's east coast created a brown sea foam that swallowed up a dog.
In a dramatic video shared online, the dog's owner can be seen wading through the muck while, calling the dog desperately.
On sighting a white bathing suit, the lady in the video shouted “Hazel! Hazel” as she searched through the churning brown bubbles, which were as high as her chest.
In a twist of event, the pup emerged and was safely scooped up into his owner’s arms and taken to safety.
Severe rain and high tides battered more than 600 miles of Australia’s eastern coastline leading to disappearance of beaches surrounding Byron Bay, a popular tourist destination.
More than 2,000 homes have lost power and tides as high as 26 feet were recorded.
The bizarre sea foam is created when impurities, such as salts, natural chemicals and dead plants, are churned together by powerful waves, turning the water into thick, brown bubbles.
