The Inokashira Park Zoo in Tokyo is not only popular for its conservation program. The zoo also gives visitors a nice big pond to enjoy. But if you're like me, the soothing beauty of nature wouldn't be enough to keep you nice and relaxed. You will want to get a little closer and observe what's happening behind the scenes.
Since 1987, Inokashira Park Zoo has allowed visitors to get closer to its rodent when their popular guinea pig petting area was opened. But because no one likes to pet a dirty pig, the zookeepers always ensure that the guinea pigs are kept nice and clean by washing their fur twice a year.
Now thanks to Twitter, you don't need to visit Tokyo in order to watch how the zoo keepers pamper the guinea pigs. You can just relax and watch this amazing video at the comfort of your home.
In this short video shared on twitter, every step of the process is shown - from the shampoo to the blow dry. Even the footage showing when the zookeepers are scrubbing at their roots and the guinea pigs remaining still as if they’ve transcended to ultimate relaxation mode is shown.

Some pet parents will tell you that many small exotic pets don’t enjoy being washed but, based on this video, there are, of course, exceptions. So don't be too surprised at how calm the guinea pigs remained throughout the whole grooming process.
Instead, if you've been having a stressful week and would want to unwind by seeing some adorable critters getting groomed, this video is perfect. Don’t worry if cute creatures are not your thing. Inokashira Park Zoo has plenty of other animals to enjoy too, including the King of the Monsters!
